I HAD MY DOUBTS ABOUT NIKKI OSBORNE'S EVERYPLATE BOX. THEN MY FAMILY TRIED IT

I'll be honest: when the EveryPlate box landed on my doorstep, I had my doubts.
I have cooked for a hungry family for years, and I wasn't convinced a box of ingredients and a recipe card could do better than my own trusty weeknight rotation.
I was wrong, and happily so.
The box in question was comedian and TV presenter Nikki Osborne's limited-edition "CBF" box for EveryPlate, built around six of her favourite go-to dinners.
Why Nikki Osborne teamed up with EveryPlate
If you missed our earlier story, the CBF box is aimed squarely at those of us who simply can't be fussed cooking dinner after a long day.
Roy Morgan research suggests nearly one in two Australians are looking for a way out of the kitchen.
Nikki, the self-styled Bush Barbie, has brought her no-filter attitude to the menu, promising easy four-step recipes and good dinners without the drama.
EveryPlate kindly sent us a box to try, and I chose three recipes for four people.
What we cooked
From the six recipes in the collection, I picked the Classic Pork Schnitzel & Truffle Mash, the Prosciutto Wrapped Chicken and the Spinach Falafel & Tzatziki Pita Pockets.
The first thing I noticed was how fresh the ingredients were.
The family favourite
The Prosciutto Wrapped Chicken was the runaway hit at our place.
It is honestly not something I would ever have thought to cook myself, which is exactly the point of a box like this.
It felt a little bit special for a weeknight, and everyone loved it.
The truffle mash that came with the pork schnitzel was another big winner.
There is something about truffle that makes a simple mash feel like a restaurant side.
The falafel pita pockets rounded out the trio, and they went down just as well.
How easy is it?
This was the part that won me over.
The instructions are very easy to follow, and none of the meals took long to make at all.
EveryPlate says the recipes in the box take four steps and can be ready in around 15 minutes.
There was no hunting through the pantry for a missing spice, no half-used bunches of herbs wilting in the fridge and no standing in the supermarket wondering what on earth to make.
For a busy household, that alone takes a surprising amount of stress out of the week.
Who would love it?
Busy parents juggling work, school pick-ups and after-school activities will appreciate having dinner sorted before the week begins.
It would also suit couples and empty nesters who are tired of cooking the same handful of meals on repeat.
And if you have teenagers who are keen to learn to cook, the simple step-by-step cards are a great place to start.
The verdict
Every single meal was delicious, and the whole family loved them.
I went in sceptical and came out with a new favourite dinner, which is about the best endorsement I can give.
If you are stuck in a cooking rut, or you simply can't face another night of deciding what's for dinner, this is well worth a try.
