Two of Australia's most nostalgic summer treats have teamed up, and the result is the Drumstick Slurpee.

Peters Ice Cream and 7-Eleven have launched the limited-edition cone in 7-Eleven stores right around the country, just in time for the warmer weather.

If you grew up with a Drumstick in one hand and a brain-freezing Slurpee in the other, this one is made for you.

What Is In The Drumstick Slurpee?

The new cone combines raspberry-flavoured sorbet, inspired by 7-Eleven's famous raspberry Slurpee, with smooth vanilla ice cream.

It is topped with fizzy candy pieces for a little crackle, and finished with the classic chocolate tip at the bottom of the cone that Drumstick fans know and love.

According to Inside FMCG, it is the first time Drumstick has ever made a sorbet product.

Peters' head of marketing, Andrea Hamori, called it "a really exciting milestone" for the brand.

Where Can You Buy It?

The Drumstick Slurpee is sold exclusively at 7-Eleven stores across Australia.

It is a limited-time release, and no end date has been announced, so if you are keen it is best not to leave it too long.

Pricing has not been published, so check in store before you head in with the kids.

You can find your nearest store and the current Slurpee flavours on the 7-Eleven website.

A Mash-Up With Plenty Of Nostalgia

Rob Kirby, general manager of merchandise at 7-Eleven Australia, said the collaboration offered "a little nostalgia with something completely unexpected".

He also pointed out that Slurpees have been part of Australian summers and weekends for generations.

Drumstick is no small player either, with Peters saying the brand sells more than 155 million cones a year, according to Convenience World.

The pairing has already been tested overseas, where a blue raspberry version launched at 7-Eleven stores in the United States in 2024.

The Australian cone sticks with raspberry, the flavour many of us will remember from after-school trips to the servo.

Why Brand Collaborations Are Everywhere

If it feels like every second snack in the supermarket is a mash-up these days, you are not imagining it.

Research from Mondelez International's 2026 State of Snacking Report found that 42 per cent of Australian snack buyers surveyed said brand collaborations add excitement to snacks.

We have seen everything from cakes inspired by social media chefs to biscuit flavours borrowed from lollies, and shoppers keep snapping them up.

Limited releases also create a sense of urgency, which is why these products often sell out quickly.

Peters has dabbled in this space before, with a Frosty Fruits Mango Sorbet stick that also tapped into our love of fruity, icy treats.

For brands, a clever partnership is a way to get people talking, and for us it is a bit of fun at the freezer cabinet.

Tips For Enjoying Your Summer Treats

Ice cream and sorbet melt fast in Australian heat, so eat your cone in the shade or pop it straight in a cooler bag if you are taking it home.

If you are treating the kids after school, a napkin or two is a must, because fizzy candy and dripping sorbet can get messy.

Treats like this are best enjoyed as an occasional summer indulgence rather than an everyday snack.

If you are watching your sugar, sharing one between two is a nice way to try it without overdoing it.

Will It Become A Summer Staple?

Peters and 7-Eleven have not said whether the Drumstick Slurpee will return in future summers.

Limited editions that sell well do sometimes make a comeback, so there is always hope.

For now, it is one to try while you can, ideally on a hot afternoon with good company.

Let us know if it lives up to the hype.
