New research from Roy Morgan suggests almost one in two Australians are looking for an escape from the kitchen, falling into categories dubbed ‘Zappits’, ‘Take-it-aways’ and ‘Just Feed Me’.
And if anyone understands the desire to get dinner on the table without spending the entire evening making it, it’s comedian and TV presenter Nikki Osborne.

The EveryPlate recipes are designed to be simple, with four steps and meals ready in around 15 minutes.
Prices start from $2.99 per plate, making the box as easy on the wallet as it is on the cook.
It is essentially dinner for people who would rather do almost anything else than chop, stir, and stand over a stove after a long day.

The collaboration comes at a time when convenience is increasingly part of how Australians approach weekday meals.
The Roy Morgan research found 17 per cent of Australians fall into the ‘Zappits’ category, 9 per cent are ‘Take-it-aways ’, and 23 per cent identify as ‘Just Feed Me’ consumers.
Together, that is a sizeable chunk of the population looking for an easier way to get dinner sorted.
Osborne’s answer is fairly straightforward: make it quick, make it tasty and don't make people work too hard for it.
