Finding menopause skincare that genuinely suits your changing skin is about to get a whole lot easier, and you will be able to do it with the weekly shop.

Coles has confirmed it will become the first Australian supermarket to adopt the MTick, a menopause-friendly certification created by the UK organisation GenM.

The move, reported by Retail Beauty and Inside Retail, will bring more than 200 certified products across skincare, personal care, vitamins and oral health.

For the roughly 4.5 million Australian women going through menopause at any one time, that is a big deal.

What Is The MTick?

The MTick is a small symbol on packaging, online listings and shelf signs that flags a product designed to support one or more of 48 recognised signs of menopause.

Those signs range from dry skin and loss of elasticity to poor sleep, low mood and changes to bone and joint health.

According to TerryWhite Chemmart, which already stocks certified products, each item is checked against set criteria, with brands supplying product data that GenM independently verifies.

It is worth knowing what the tick is not, too.

It does not mean a product cures or treats menopause, simply that it has been assessed as helpful for a specific symptom.

When Menopause Skincare Lands At Coles

If you are hoping to grab certified products on your next trip, you will need a little patience.

Coles says an online menopause support hub with educational resources will launch in early 2027, with certified products following online and then in stores.

Coles chief commercial and sustainability officer Anna Croft summed up the thinking neatly.

"Finding products that can help support women through menopause shouldn't be complicated," she said.

GenM's own research suggests many women agree, with 87 per cent of menopausal women saying they feel overlooked by brands and retailers.

The same research found 66 per cent struggle to find suitable products.

Brands Already Wearing The Tick

You do not have to wait until 2027 to explore certified beauty buys.

Skincare brand Murad Australia recently had five products certified, including its Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum and several treatments from its Retinal ReSculpt range.

The brand says the collection targets uneven tone, wrinkles and reduced elasticity, which can become more noticeable during perimenopause and menopause.

Other brands named as part of the initiative in Australia include Swisse, Boost Lab, Hey Sister!, Lifespace and Mineralyte.

How To Care For Changing Skin Now

Hormonal shifts can leave skin feeling drier and more sensitive than you are used to, so a gentle, simple routine is often the kindest place to start.

Here are a few practical tips while you wait for the tick to hit supermarket shelves:

Swap foaming cleansers for a creamy or gel cleanser that does not leave skin feeling tight.

Look for richer moisturisers that help support your skin barrier, and apply them to slightly damp skin.

Introduce strong actives such as retinoids slowly, a couple of nights a week at first.

Keep up a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day, a year-round essential for Aussie skin at every age.

Patch test anything new, especially if your skin has become more reactive.

If you are dealing with persistent itching, rashes or sudden changes to your skin, it is always worth checking in with your GP or a dermatologist.

A Growing Category

Menopause beauty is fast becoming one of the industry's most talked-about categories.

Figures from Grand View Research, cited by Retail Beauty, forecast the Australian and New Zealand menopause skincare market to more than double between 2026 and 2033.

For women who have spent years quietly trial-and-erroring their way through hot flushes and dry patches, a clear symbol in the supermarket aisle is a welcome, practical step.
