If your social feeds have been full of colourful little spray bottles lately, you'll be thrilled to know the viral Touchland hand sanitiser has finally arrived in Australia.

The US brand, which has built a cult following on TikTok, has launched here exclusively at Sephora.

It went live online first and landed in every Sephora store around the country on 28 October.

Why this hand sanitiser went viral

Let's be honest, most of us spent a few years spraying harsh, sticky gel on our hands and wincing at the smell.

Touchland set out to change that, turning a humble hygiene product into something you actually want to pull out of your handbag.

The brand was founded in 2018 by Andrea Lisbona, who is still its founder and CEO.

Its signature mists come in sleek, colourful bottles with fruity and floral scents, which is a big part of why they became such a social media hit.

Pedestrian summed it up as the viral TikTok hand sanitiser you've seen everywhere, and it's hard to argue.

What's in the Aussie range

According to Pedestrian, 13 products are launching in Australia.

The hero is the OG Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitiser, which costs $18.

It comes in eight scents: Beach Coco, Wild Watermelon, Vanilla Blossom, Berry Bliss, Rainwater, Pure Lavender, Blue Sandalwood and Mango Passion.

The formula includes aloe vera and radish root ferment, so it's designed to feel kinder on your skin than the old-school stuff.

There's also a Power Essence Body and Hair Fragrance Mist for $35.

It's made with niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and panthenol, and comes in Lush Tropicale, Vanilla Velvet, Peachy Lychee, Cashmere Woods and Golden Amber.

To finish the look, a $10 silicone mist case with a keychain clips onto your bag, keys or gym kit.

It comes in Bubblegum Pink, Icy White or Jet Black.

Where to buy it

You can shop the full range online at Sephora Australia or pop into any Sephora store.

Sephora's Australia and New Zealand general manager, George Tsoukalas, told Beauty Directory the retailer was "delighted to bring the globally loved Touchland to Australia".

Kiwi fans will need to be a little more patient, with the New Zealand launch date still to be confirmed.

Is it worth the hype?

If you're someone who uses hand sanitiser several times a day, a formula that feels nice and smells lovely can make a real difference.

The bottles are small enough to slip into a pocket, a nappy bag or a school backpack.

At $18 a bottle, it is pricier than a supermarket pump pack, so think of it as a little treat rather than a bulk buy.

The scent range also makes it a cute stocking filler, with Christmas just around the corner.

A few practical tips

Remember that hand sanitiser is handy when you're out and about, but washing with soap and water is still the gold standard when your hands are visibly dirty.

If you have sensitive skin, try one scent first and check the ingredients list before you commit to a collection.

Keep hand sanitisers out of reach of little ones, as most contain alcohol and should never be swallowed.

And because these bottles are so pretty, you may want to label yours before the kids, or your partner, claim it.

The bottom line

Touchland's arrival is a fun reminder that even everyday essentials can bring a little joy.

Whether you fancy a juicy Wild Watermelon or a cosy Vanilla Blossom, there's likely a mist with your name on it.

Just be warned: once your friends spot it, you may find yourself buying a few extra for gifts.
