The Comedy Pet Photo Awards today revealed the amazing images shortlisted this year, and there are some absolute crackers to make you smile!

Among the top finalists are two cats whispering, a Kung Fu dog and a grumpy dog.

The funny pet photo competition was created by Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam, both professional photographers, to celebrate pets' positive and vital role in our lives and encourage engagement around animal welfare.

The images were chosen for their photographic quality and comedic value. The judges, who are all expert animal lovers, will now examine them to pick the winner.

The panel includes TV presenter, writer, conservationist and animal lover Kate Humble, professional photographer and nature lover Gerrard Gethings and his son Jarvis Gethings.

All finalists eligible for the People’s Choice vote via the website for their favourite funny pet.

The vote is open from May 10 and closes on June 2.
