THE SLEEP REVOLUTION: THE POWER OF NATURAL FIBRES REVEALED

In a world where we dedicate a significant portion of our lives to sleep, choosing the right bedding cannot be overstated.

Not all textiles are created equal, with experts endorsing the benefits of bedding made from natural fibres such as linen and cotton.

The difference between natural and synthetic fibres can significantly impact the quality of our sleep.

Natural fibres, like linen and cotton, allow for better air circulation, creating an environment conducive to a more restful night's sleep,

Proper ventilation ensures that body heat is effectively dispersed, preventing discomfort caused by overheating during the night.

Temperature regulation is a key factor in achieving deep and uninterrupted sleep. Synthetic materials often trap heat, leading to discomfort and disrupted sleep patterns.

Aussie family furniture company McPhails has just launched its highly anticipated Linen line, featuring artisan quilts, comforters, bedspreads, cushions, throws and table linen.

The range was handcrafted by skilled Australian designer, Kim Hughes, who has worked in the industry for more than 30 years. Her designs feature vibrant colours and captivating textures designed to elevate home decor.

“We spend a third of our lives sleeping so we mustn't be only comfortable, but are mindful of what we are laying in. Our skin is our biggest organ, so we need to take care of it.," she said.

“Not all bedding is created equally. Sleeping in synthetic sheets may make it harder for you to temperature regulate, it may cause you to sweat, which can lead to an uncomfortable sleep and/or you can also get swear spots or pimples on your skin which no one wants.

"My commitment to using natural fibres and showcasing artisanal craftsmanship is woven into every thread of the collections I design."

Kim said it was a natural progression for McPhails to add textiles to the portfolio to complement the furniture.

"Adding bedding, throws, cushions, and table linens to complement the furniture has been met with resounding success," she said.
