ANZ has been named Australia’s Credit Card Provider of the Year for 2026, leading a competitive field analysed across 247 cards from 73 banks and brands in Finder’s annual Credit Card Awards.
The research highlights the best-performing credit cards across categories, including frequent flyer, rewards, balance transfer and business products, with ANZ, American Express and NAB emerging as dominant players.
ANZ secured multiple category wins, including best balance transfer credit card for its Low Rate card, best rewards credit card for its Rewards Black Credit Card and best Qantas frequent flyer credit card for its Frequent Flyer Black.
American Express and NAB also delivered strong results, each claiming three awards.
American Express took top honours for the Velocity Platinum Card, a Velocity frequent flyer credit card, and the Qantas Business Rewards Card, a business frequent flyer charge card, while NAB dominated business categories, including the small business rewards credit card and the business frequent flyer credit card.
Finder head of consumer research Graham Cooke said the awards were designed to identify products delivering genuine long-term value.
“We’ve done the heavy lifting so you don’t have to. We analysed 247 cards from 73 banks and brands to determine the best of the best,” Cooke said.
“Whether you’re a points chaser or looking to crush your debt, the award winners are a great place to start.”
Bankwest continued its long-standing dominance in the travel category, winning best travel credit card for the eighth consecutive year with its Breeze Platinum Mastercard, which also took out the award for best no-foreign-exchange-fees credit card.
Kogan Money also performed strongly, winning both the best no-annual-fee credit card and best no-annual-fee rewards credit card categories, highlighting growing demand among Australians for low-cost card options.
Cooke said the results reflected a highly competitive market where different cards excel in different areas.
“What this shows is that credit cards are very much created for specific customer types, and you need to make sure you have the right product for your specific needs,” he said.
The Provider of the Year awards, based equally on product performance and customer satisfaction, recognised ANZ as overall Credit Card Provider of the Year, while American Express was named Provider of the Year for rewards credit cards.
Finder said its methodology analysed thousands of data points across interest rates, fees and features to identify cards delivering consistent, long-term value rather than relying on short-term promotional offers.
