Turmeric has spent thousands of years building a reputation as one of beauty’s most powerful natural ingredients. Unfortunately, it has also built a reputation for turning bathroom towels yellow.

Now, Australian skincare brand MSSKIN claims to have solved one of turmeric skincare’s biggest problems with what it describes as the world’s first stain-free turmeric clay mask.

The vegan-friendly Turmeric Vitamin C Clay Mask combines turmeric and Vitamin C in a formulation designed to deliver the ingredient’s skincare benefits without leaving behind the usual yellow tint on skin, sinks or clothing.

Turmeric skincare has long faced one major problem

Turmeric’s bright colour comes from curcumin, a pigment-rich compound known for both its anti-inflammatory properties and its ability to stain virtually everything it touches.

In skincare, curcumin binds to keratin in the skin's outer layer, so the yellow tint is not simply surface-level. That has traditionally made turmeric masks messy and inconvenient despite their popularity in beauty rituals spanning thousands of years.

MSSKIN’s new formula aims to modernise the ingredient through a stain-free clay mask designed to target redness, acne, pigmentation and dullness in just 10 minutes.

Australian skincare brand focuses on glow without irritation

The mask has been formulated to help draw out impurities, calm inflammation, and refine skin texture while remaining suitable for sensitive and acne-prone skin.

According to the brand, the non-comedogenic formula supports the skin barrier while delivering radiance without clogging pores or causing irritation.

The product is also vegan-friendly, cruelty-free and Australian-owned.

At this point, the beauty industry may finally have achieved what once seemed impossible: turmeric skincare without looking like you lost a fight with a butter chicken.
