CHASING SUMMER IN EUROPE? CHECK OUT THIS EYE CANDY

Look, if you're packing for Europe this summer and you don't have the right sunglasses, stop.
Pause that frantic rolling of linen shirts. Because nothing screams 'tourist' louder than squinting at the Amalfi Coast without a shred of style, shielding your eyes.
This season, I’m all about practical glamour. Sunglasses that work on a Greek ferry at sunrise after a night of questionable ouzo shots, but also make you look put-together when you're sipping €18 Aperol Spritz in Paris (don’t get me started on those prices).
I tested this range from Sunglass Hut on the road. Because yes, I take my job seriously. And also because I needed an excuse to go to Europe.
Here’s what you need in your summer escape arsenal.
1. The Oversized Black Frames: Sardinia to Santorini
These are your don't talk to me shades. Classic black, but with bold oversized lenses that hide a multitude of sins (late nights, questionable decisions, existential dread).
Wear them wandering whitewashed streets in Santorini or at the beach clubs in Sardinia, where you’re pretending you’re not checking your bank balance every five minutes.
Pro tip: Pair with a slick bun, SPF 50, and your best "I'm too important for eye contact" face.
2. Retro Cat-Eye: Côte d’Azur Chic
If you're headed to the South of France, you need to channel unapologetic old-Hollywood. These cat-eye frames are the answer.
They’re flirtatious without trying too hard. Perfect for when you're eating baguettes bigger than your head or pretending to understand French cinema.
Guaranteed to make locals think you’re slightly more interesting than the average sweaty tourist.
3. Minimalist Wireframes: Berlin Cool
Berlin in summer is a vibe - rooftop bars, lakes, techno marathons that swallow your soul. You want shades that say "I’m not even trying" while being perfectly curated.
These wireframes are light, stylish, and won’t snap when you accidentally sit on them at 4 am after getting lost on the U-Bahn.
4. Tortoiseshell Classics: Amalfi Authentic
You want to look local in Italy? Tortoiseshell is your friend.
These frames have a vintage soul but modern lines. They go with everything – linen shirts, swimsuits, regret. They work at Positano cafes, coastal walks, or leaning dramatically against a Vespa you rented to find yourself.
Bonus: They hide tears when you see the bill for pasta and wine.
5. Coloured Lenses: Ibiza Energy
You’re not in Ibiza to blend in. These come with lenses in bold colours – think sunset orange, ocean blue, or unhinged neon.
Perfect for day parties, beach clubs, or convincing yourself you're still 23.
Ideal for selfies you’ll post and regret in equal measure.
Final Thoughts From the Road
I didn’t choose these styles for a visually appealing grid. I wore them, sweated in them, sat on them, and dropped them in a Venetian canal (long story).
They’re not just pretty faces. They work.
So before you stuff another straw hat in your already-bulging suitcase, invest in sunglasses that will make you feel like you belong there, or at least help you fake it convincingly.
Europe is unforgiving when it comes to style. Don’t let your eyes (or dignity) go unprotected.
