A new launch from one of Australia’s leading acne brands is blurring the line between skincare and self-expression, with pimple patches stepping confidently into the spotlight.
New take on breakout care
Skin Control, widely recognised as Australia’s #1 acne care brand, has unveiled its latest product: the Pimple Patch Flower Power Case, a release that leans as much into style as it does skincare.
Available from April 13, the launch builds on the brand’s existing pimple patch range, but with a more playful, design-led twist aimed squarely at tweens, teens and Gen Z.
From treatment to trend
Once designed to be discreet, pimple patches are now being worn out in the open, and even styled as accessories.
The Flower Power Case taps directly into that shift, transforming what was once a functional skincare step into something expressive.
Inspired by the brand’s best-selling Party Pack Pimple Patches, the new case features 36 patches in floral shapes and bright colours, each finished with a small jewel at its centre.
The effect is less clinical, more collectable.
Skincare function still comes first
While the aesthetic has evolved, the core purpose remains unchanged. The patches use hydrocolloid technology, combined with Tea Tree Oil, to cleanse blemishes, absorb whiteheads and help prevent picking.
The case itself is designed with longevity in mind. Compact, refillable and travel-friendly, it positions acne care as something that fits easily into daily life rather than being confined to a bathroom routine.
A shift in how we treat skin
The rise of visible pimple patches says something broader about how younger consumers are approaching skincare. There is less emphasis on concealment and more on normalising real skin.
“With the new Flower Power Case, we wanted to take something our community already loves and upgrade it in a way that feels expressive and fun, but with the same hydrocolloid technology that cleanses, protects and absorbs whiteheads.
The response to our Party Pack patches showed us that customers are embracing pimple patches as part of their everyday routine.
We've also seen a shift in skincare becoming a fashion accessory, normalising pimple patches being worn outside of the house, whether they're invisible or a fun shape,” says Skin Control’s Co-Founder, Michael Porter.
The business of breakout care
It is also big business. Skin Control sold more than 5 million packs of its patches in 2025 alone, underscoring just how mainstream the category has become.
Best known for its OG Pimple Patch and the Pimple Patch Mixed AM & PM, the brand has spent the past eight years reshaping how Australians approach breakouts, moving the conversation away from hiding imperfections and towards treating them more openly.
With the Flower Power Case, that shift becomes even more visible. Quite literally.
