PK9 GEAR LAUNCHES HAND-MARBLED PRIDE COLLECTION OF DOG COLLARS, MADE IN MELBOURNE

Melbourne-based dog gear brand PK9 Gear has opened a waitlist for its limited-edition Pride Collection of hand-marbled leather dog collars and leads, releasing throughout June 2026 and made entirely by hand in Australia.

The collection moves away from the printed rainbow merchandise that typically appears each Pride season.

Every PK9 Gear Pride piece is cut from Italian vegetable-tanned leather that has been hand-marbled in the brand's Melbourne workshop.

Each marbled sheet is one of a kind, which means every collar and lead in the collection carries a pattern that cannot be reproduced.

The collection was designed by PK9 Gear founder Chris Loverseed, who is also the owner of Melbourne dog training business Positive K9 Training and holds a Certificate III in Dog Training and Behaviour.

The marbling process is centuries old. Paint is floated on the surface of a thickened water bath, combed by hand into a pattern, and the leather is laid down to lift the pattern in a single pull. No two sheets come out the same, and no pattern can be repeated.

Once the marbled leather is dried and sealed, each piece is finished entirely by hand at the PK9 Gear workshop. Edges are hand-bevelled, hand-burnished and hand-stitched. The hardware is solid brass throughout, with no plating used anywhere on the collection.

The collection includes two pieces.

The Pride Collar is available in sizes small through extra-large. It launches at $90 during June 2026, reduced from a recommended retail price of $120.

The Pride Lead is cut at 15 millimetres wide, the same width as a slim everyday lead. It is offered with a hand-stitched leather handle and a solid brass trigger clip, and is priced at $149.

A matched collar and lead set, drawn from the same marbled sheet wherever possible, is available for $209, a saving of $30 on the pair.

Free Australian shipping is included on orders over $120. The brand ships worldwide from Melbourne.

The Pride Collection is a strict June release. Once the month ends, sales close and the edition is finished.
