CHARM OFFENSIVE: THE ACCESSORY TREND TAKING OVER 2025

Move over statement bags - this year, it’s the add-ons doing all the talking.
Bag charms, those cheeky little extras that once felt like tween accessories, are now front and centre in high fashion.
Think cherry keychains, satin bows, neon fluff, and personalised initials, swinging off handles from Paris to Paddington.
Big names like Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs and Coperni have embraced the movement with branded baubles and novelty trinkets - but like all good fashion trends, it hasn’t taken long for the street to catch up.
SHEIN has jumped on board with a full collection of bag charms, clips and fabric wraps, offering a quick, affordable way to customise your favourite carryall.
At $2.71 for a plush octopus or $4.70 for a cherry pendant, it’s a trend that doesn’t require deep pockets.

“There’s something joyful about dressing up your bag,” says one Sydney stylist. “It’s a small detail with big energy - like jewellery for your tote.”
On TikTok, the hashtag #BagCharms is climbing past 85 million views, with users styling their own looks featuring everything from beaded initials to squishy cartoon animals.
It’s part of a bigger trend towards personalisation in accessories, a reaction to years of minimalism and uniform luxury. In 2025, even the It-girls want something that feels individual.
And while brands like Louis Vuitton and Prada have long offered leather tassels and logo tags, today’s take is bolder, cheaper and often homemade. A bright scrunchie tied around a bag handle? On trend. A clip-on sausage dog in neon pink? Even better.
In a world where a handbag can cost more than a holiday, charms are the small-scale rebellion. Less polish, more personality and a lot more fun.
